10/3/06 02:08 pm - Learn something new every day

I so learned there  is 14,673,565 bricks on RIT's campus as of two weeks ago.  Huh, I was wondering where my money went.

Weird,
I just reference a paper for a lab report which was on Quantum Dots written by a Matt Mur, published on April 1st, 1985.

(for those who somehow don't know, I always say "Mur", never thought that is was an actual last name, and that is my birthday)

I don't think I have ever had this many classes all together at the same time. I am used to having 1 to 3 hour breaks between all classes, but having classes from 9am until 6pm.  We will see if I like this more.

8/3/06 06:51 am - PUBLISHED!!!

Well, 3 years after the research finished up, my work (and my co-workers) at the skin science institute have finally published the first paper (with my name on it). From the overall project there is over 15 medical papers being published. I have been cited as a co-author of four of them, this being the first one to actually publish (it was only submitted over a year ago). Now only if the journals I sent my economic thesis to almost a year ago would make up their minds if they want to publish that work.

Anyways, here is the article: http://www.rit.edu/~mbh0620/Gynoid_Lypodystrophy_Article.pdf

Why do all the girls have to live the tough guys.  Grrrr.

7/27/06 10:26 pm - Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Bush blames Iraq on bad accounting, along with nice Jew joke

I nearly feel out of my bed after hearing this one.  Listen to the entire thing.

7/25/06 07:02 am - We have move to a sad day....

That image is right...monopoly with a swipe card instead of bills. Check Toys R' Us, they will have the new version. So here comes the question...will our kids be about to count change and bills, because it seems more and more likely be the time they are in first grade, they will already have visa credit cards and cell phones.

This is terrible!

7/4/06 09:28 pm

For the last three hours, I have been procrastinating.
I am suppost to be studying for my Linear Systems test tommorow.

No, instead I have been doing Electronics homework. That's how sad my life has become this quarter, my "version" of procrastinating is doing homework for other classes. It's a good thing that I have gotten most (6 out of 7) problems done in Electronics because I had no idea when I was going to find the time to attend to that (it's due friday, but my week is hell). Still.

Now let's see, I could procrastinate more by doing...Electronics pre-lab, Electronics lab report, EM Fields homework, Thin Films OPLS, Thin Films lab report or study for my Thin Films test.

Boy has this been a tough quarter. I am not usually saying that not even half way through the quarter

Instead I am study. Grr.

A major research institution (MRI) has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest chemical element yet known to science. The new element has been tentatively named Governmentium. Governmentium has 1 neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 224 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected as it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of governmentium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would normally take less than a second. Governmentium has a normal half-life of three years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause some morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to speculate that governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as Critical Morass.

Boy have I driven a bit during co-op...

January 2nd, 2006: car had 58,320 miles on it (first day of co-op)
June 2nd, 2006: car had 70,531 miles on it (last day of co-op)

Total miles: 12,211 miles
Average driver (annually): 7000 miles

If I drove as much during co-op for the rest of the year, my annual milage per year would be: around 25,000 miles this year.

Average gas price during my co-op (in Maine): $2.79
MPG of my car: 28
Estimated amount of income that went into driving (not including toll booths): $1,400
Cost of toll booths (over the course of co-op): $245
Cost of driving (total): way to much!

Damn, my money from co-op is being stolen by the middle-east. I wonder if I can report this to the cops.
